Team

CLRI is led by scholars and practitioners with deep ties to the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian academic institutions.

Émilie Gibeau

Émilie is a bilingual scholar specializing in leadership, organizational design, personnel systems, professional development and organizational effectiveness in complex and high-stakes environments. She is a faculty member at the Royal Military College of Canada and works closely with defence organizations on command teams, culture, and personnel systems.

Her work is field-based and grounded in direct engagement with military leaders and professionals. It focuses on how organizations operate in practice, not only how they are designed to function. She has collaborated with key defence stakeholders including the Canadian Forces Health Services, the Chief Professional Conduct and Culture, and the Canadian Defence Academy. Her work connects analytical rigour with operational relevance, focusing on how organizations manage complexity, coordination, and change.

Jason Kauenhofen

Jason is an experienced manager, leader, and scholar with more than 24 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces. He has led complex technical and organizational transformation initiatives and directed large-scale defence projects exceeding $600 million. His experience includes multinational interoperability, information management, and organizational integration across allied environments.

He has led teams, designed programs, and contributed to research on integration in complex defence systems. Jason brings a strong understanding of how technical systems, organizational structures, and human dynamics interact under operational conditions, with a consistent record of delivering results in demanding and multi-stakeholder environments.

Additional directors and subject matter experts will be announced as CLRI completes its incorporation and board formation.
